The Mauritius Cane Industry Authority was established as a body corporate on 15 December 2011 with the enactment of the Mauritius Cane Industry Authority Act (No. 40 of 2011). The Act came into force by Proclamation on 19th of March 2012. It operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Agro-Industry and Food Security.
